We co-ordinated investment companies and tenants, instructed the professional team, and managed the Design & Build contractor to enable substantial end-user occupation on this business park development within 12 months.
Aztec West is a business park to the north of Bristol, close to the M4 and M5 and Almondsbury Interchange. The park started development in the early 1980s and was sold to Arlington Securities soon after. The Park is home to over 100 companies employing 7000 people; the Aztec Centre (pictured above) was opened by Margaret Thatcher on Friday 15th December 1989, where a plaque in the entrance commemorates the occasion. The park includes warehouse / factory units, a 4* hotel and several office villages – Southern Lakes being one such new development.
On behalf of the developer, Arlington Securities, our role was to project manage the construction of Southern Lakes, a development of 5no headquarters buildings for major tenant corporations, with landscaped grounds and water features.
We consulted with the landlords and tenants agents to determine their requirements; directed the professional team in preparing the design drawings and specification; facilitated their novation to the Design & Build contractor; managed and administered the contractor’s construction contract.
The works were satisfactorily completed within 12 months to enable timely tenant occupation.
